Ciara is once again giving back to her hometown of Atlanta.
The Grammy Award winner is set to invest $50,000 in Atlanta youth initiatives as part of her second annual Ciara Day in Atlanta. The investment will assist students from the Atlanta area with scholarships, training, equipment, and educational experiences in fields such as music, film, fashion, technology, sports, dance, education and leadership.
The initiative will also support nearly a dozen local organizations to help create opportunities for young people across the city.
“Atlanta has always been home to me and played such an important role in shaping who I am both as an artist and as a person. The city’s incredible entertainment community poured into me and gave me opportunities to dream big. In honor of [Ciara] Day, it means so much to give back to the next generation by supporting organizations that are empowering young creatives across Atlanta,” Ciara said in a statement.
In 2024, Ciara was honored with “Ciara Day” in the city of Atlanta by City Council Member Julian Bond to coincide with the 20th anniversary of her debut album, “Goodies.”
The initiative also gained praise from Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, who thanked Ciara for helping provide the youth of Atlanta with opportunities that aligned with her own journey from teen star to one of the biggest names in pop and R&B over the last two decades.
“Atlanta has always been a city where talent is discovered, nurtured and celebrated. Ciara’s investment reflects the very best of our city. She is giving young Atlantans the same kind of opportunities that helped shape her own journey,” Dickens said in a statement. “Thank you to Ciara, for helping to further create pathways that will inspire the next generation of artists, innovators and leaders.”
The 10 organizations that will receive funding as part of the initiative include Atlanta Music Project, Black Girls Film Camp, the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association, Dance 311 Foundation, the Game Elite AAU 14 Boys Basketball Team, Le Fashion Lab, RenderATL, SCAD, Scratch Out Loud DJ Academy and Soccer In The Streets. Each program will receive $5,000 and is tasked with using the funds to expand access and help enrich the lives of young Atlanta creatives.
